Moussa Sissoko has won Tottenham Hotspur’s Legends’ Player of the Season, the club’s official Twitter account has confirmed.
The France international has enjoyed a sensational season in midfield for Spurs and was surprised by a host of former stars, including the likes of Osvaldo Ardiles, Ricky Villa and Cliff Jones, at the club’s training ground on Tuesday.
He was presented with the award and gave a short speech, having been serenaded by his team-mates to the tune of “Oh, Moussa Sissoko”.
The former Newcastle United man has made a total of 43 appearances in all competitions this season and has been integral to the club’s top-four finish and their progress to the Champions League final.
His turnaround has been remarkable and he is almost certain to play against Liverpool in Madrid on Saturday as Spurs bid to win the competition for the first time in their history.
And supporters have been left delighted that the 29-year-old’s performances have been recognised.
