French reports claim Tottenham have officially opened negotiations for Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, and fans couldn’t be happier.

Ndombele was one of the brightest young prospects in Europe last season, and Spurs fans are rightfully ecstatic over their potential summer swoop.

The 21 year-old midfielder is technically an Amiens player, but is expected to make the permanent switch to Lyon this summer after a successful loan spell.

Lyon could then immediately cash in on the youngster, and L’Equipe (via GFFN) claim Tottenham have entered formal negotiations.

According to the French report, Daniel Levy has started the bidding at €40m (£35m), but Lyon do not want to sell for anything under €60m (£52.5m).

Spurs are of course facing the prospect of losing Mousa Dembele and potentially even Victor Wanyama this summer, so getting a rising star to immediately replace the beastly Belgian would be a major coup.

There have been rumours of Spurs’ interest for quite some time now, so the fact that they have finally started talks with Lyon is music to fans’ ears.
