Loads of Tottenham fans have been reacting to Wednesday’s win over West Ham, and they’re heaping praise on record signing Davinson Sanchez for playing two games in 48 hours.
Tottenham’s stadium difficulties forced the club to play twice in the space of two days this week, and Sanchez played 90 minutes in both encounters.
The hard-fought 1-0 defeat to Manchester City was certainly a setback, but beating West Ham was the best possible response.
Spurs travelled to the London Stadium knowing a win would put them in a great position to grab the first trophy of the Mauricio Pochettino era, and they romped past the Hammers thanks to two goals from Heung-min Son.
Fernando Llorente grabbed the other goal in the 3-1 win, but it’s the centre backs that are getting all the plaudits.
The home side had a lot more of the ball than Pochettino probably would have wanted, but Sanchez and young Juan Foyth stood firm.
The injury to Jan Vertonghen looked to be a major setback, but Sanchez is proving he is more than capable of filling the Belgian’s shoes.
Last summer’s record-breaking move for the Colombian is starting to look like a real stroke of genius from Pochettino and Daniel Levy.

I totally agree. Both Sanchez and Foyth did a great job tonight!

Its no suprise, I think Vertonghens form improved last season when he played with Sanchez, arguably Toby looks better along side him, and then Foyth looked a better prospect next to him last night. He is a proper defender, will only get better

Glad he singled him out. Fantastic performance just 48 hours after playing City.

I’ve waxed lyrical over both Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez in the last 12 months.
Here’s to another 12.
