Tottenham are bracing themselves for a £50million bid from Real Madrid for star right-back Kieran Trippier, according to The Sun.

The England star had an excellent World Cup campaign and was one of the best players for the Three Lions as they reached the Semi Finals.

The wing-back was named in Fifa's Team of the Tournament thanks to his stunning performances, including a fine free-kick against Croatia and a number of devastating set-piece deliveries and bombing runs down the right flank.

The 27-year-old signed for Spurs in 2015 and following Kyle Walker's departure last summer, he became a key player in Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Trippier made 24 Premier League appearances last season, used in rotation with Serge Aurier, and following his impressive showing in Russia, Real Madrid are said to be readying a record bid for an English player.
