Paulo Gazzaniga looks almost certain to start for Tottenham Hotspur in Wednesday’s EFL Cup fixture with fellow Premier League club Watford.

Gazzaniga made just his second appearance for Tottenham at the weekend as Mauricio Pochettino’s side recorded a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

The club’s number one goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is still recovering from a thigh problem, whilst number two Vorm is on the sidelines with a knee injury.

As a result, Gazzaniga will surely keep his spot between the sticks for the clash with Watford.

It would be fair to say that the majority of the Tottenham fans are not huge supporters of Vorm, and the team news ahead of the match on Wednesday night has gone down well.

Gazzaniga was a surprise arrival at Tottenham in the summer of 2017, and he only made one appearance for the club last term.

The 26-year-old currently holds the gloves, however, and another positive performance against Watford will stand him in good stead when it comes to potentially taking Vorm’s spot in the squad.
