According to Sky Sports’ Live Transfer Centre (January 10, 1:20pm), Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, who has a release clause of £18m in his contract, and Spurs fans have been quick to react on Twitter.
Sky Sports report that the 23-year-old is on the north London outfit’s list of potential Mousa Dembele replacements should the Belgium international move to China this month, and they have scouted him for both club and his country Austria this season.
Should Mauricio Pochettino seal a deal the midfielder would be competing with the likes of Eric Dier, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko for a spot in the starting XI, and he would certainly fit into Daniel Levy’s budget seeing as he seemingly wouldn’t come with a huge price tag.
Tottenham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the potential deal, and while one said
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
Eurgh Grillitsch is one of the slowest players I've seen play, makes Xhaka seem rapid
