Loads of Spurs fans have been reacting to some rather bizarre comments from Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas on the future of Tanguy Ndombele.

Tottenham reportedly agreed a fee for Ndombele this week, but Aulas appears to have thrown a spanner in the works with some strange and also somewhat contradictory comments.

As reported by The Telegraph, the infamous owner said: “If I wait another 8 days, it will be €80m…Tottenham made us an opening offer worth €45m. Then, we discussed more. Nothing is done, I can assure you. We are not in a hurry either."

All in one statement, Aulas seems to quash the reports of a fee being agreed, while also simultaneously trying to push his own player out the door as quickly as possible, yet then says they are not in a hurry. Vintage Aulas.

He has a history of this sort of erratic behaviour, pulling out of a deal to sell Nabil Fekir to Liverpool just last summer, while he also blasted Daniel Levy back in 2012 for his handling of the Hugo Lloris transfer.

Ndombele started 31 games in Ligue 1 last season and seven in the Champions League, racking up seven assists along the way, per Whoscored.

Fans are unsurprisingly desperate to get a deal over the line, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions to Aulas’ comments down below…
