Though the circus nature of the Premier League these days seems to throw up shocks and surprises everywhere, sometimes the beautiful game is simply predictable.
No more so than today for the Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter, who saw their side held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion.
While a point away at a Tony Pulis side can never be looked upon as a bad thing, the fact former Spurs forward Nacer Chadli opened the scoring has had the Twitter tongues wagging.
The Belgian was sold to the Baggies over the course of the summer after a mixed three-year stint at White Hart Lane after falling even further down the pecking order.
A late Dele Alli strike saw the visitors take a point back to the Big Smoke, though Chadli’s goal has come as little surprise to those on social media this evening.
Sometimes, football just works in those ways.
Feel like every Spurs fan in the world knew they were drawing 1-1 with Chadli scoring

Chadli without the Cele on the goal. What a class act. Always liked the man

If you didn't think that Nacer Chadli would be the one to almost break our undefeated run, then you don't know much about Tottenham Hotspur

Its funny how Chadli scored today in the exact position he used to score for us. That was a rookie moment for us!
