Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose was involved in a controversial incident – at the time, at least – during his side's 3-0 Champions League win against Apoel Nicosia at Wembley on Wednesday night, and Spurs fans were quick to have their say on his performance.

The 27-year-old, who conducted a controversial interview with The Sun during the summer, has played just 180 minutes of Premier League football despite being available for the last seven matches following his return from injury, but he was handed a start against Apoel on Wednesday.

The left-back was unfortunate not to be sent off though, while he seemed to storm off down the tunnel after being substituted by Mauricio Pochettino because of a head injury he had sustained, although it turned out afterwards that he had required stitches for the wound.

Tottenham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on his display and the incident with Pochettino, and while one said "something doesn't seem right", another simply said "can't wait for him to go".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction...
