Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose was involved in a controversial incident – at the time, at least – during his side’s 3-0 Champions League win against Apoel Nicosia at Wembley on Wednesday night, and Spurs fans were quick to have their say on his performance.
The 27-year-old, who conducted a controversial interview with The Sun during the summer, has played just 180 minutes of Premier League football despite being available for the last seven matches following his return from injury, but he was handed a start against Apoel on Wednesday.
The left-back was unfortunate not to be sent off though, while he seemed to storm off down the tunnel after being substituted by Mauricio Pochettino because of a head injury he had sustained, although it turned out afterwards that he had required stitches for the wound.
Tottenham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on his display and the incident with Pochettino, and while one said “something doesn’t seem right”, another simply said “can’t wait for him to go”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

Rose came back out at the end all smiles and shared a joke with Poch. If he leaves he leaves but that wasn't a defining moment. #COYS

Never thought I’d say this, but cannot wait to cash in the £50m for Danny Rose in January. He’ll always have THAT goal, but his petulance and disrespect to the manager who’s made him the player he is now is just too much #TOTAPO #COYS #UCL

Needed a result, and got one. Some positives (Llorente, Son, Foyth), but very difficult to see how Danny Rose will be with us come Feb 1st. Shame #COYS

What's the betting Rose doesn't make bench again Sat. Something doesn't seem right – and I don't just mean his final ball. #COYS

I like Rose, but he’ll very quickly become a liability if he carries on with the attitude he showed tonight. If he doesn’t want to play for us, get him out. #coys

Bored of Danny Rose now
Massive attitude problem I’d leave him out of the squad for the next game #COYS
