According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to sign AC Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek during the January transfer window.

The Poland international has recently been linked with a move to Spurs, who will be without talisman Harry Kane until April following hamstring surgery.

However, according to The Telegraph journalist Jason Burt, the potential costs of a deal are too high following discussions between the two clubs. The Guardian reported earlier this month that Piatek would cost £30m.

As expected, a number of Spurs supporters have been on social media offering their views on the latest speculation and not too many are best pleased with their club.

Not all of the supporters would be too bothered if this was indeed the case, though.

Piatek's record in the first half of the 2018/19 campaign was stunning as he netted 19 times in 21 appearances for Genoa to earn a switch to Milan.

The 24-year-old has scored 15 times in 39 outings for his current club, which is far from disastrous, but the forward has a record of just four goals in 18 Serie A games this term.

Another fan suggested that their club could now move for Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, although there have been no reports or speculation surrounding a potential switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this month.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has provided a key update on the future of one Tottenham player as the speculation grows.
