According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have taken up an option to extend their stay at Wembley Stadium until December, and could yet play out the entire rest of the season at the national stadium.
Spurs’ new stadium project, being constructed upon the very ground where the old White Hart Lane once stood, has been delayed once again. Originally, the plan was for the North London club to begin this new campaign already settled in their new home. However, it was quickly realised that the new ground would not be ready in time for the kick off of the Premier League season.
Now, according to the aforementioned report, there are fears that the new stadium won’t be ready until after Christmas and that the Premier League may order the club to play out the remainder of the season at Wembley.
Following this latest setback news, plenty of Spurs fans took to Twitter to give their reactions to the delay. Whilst some were sympathetic towards Daniel Levy’s and the club’s struggles to oversee such a huge project, others have grown frustrated with the poor planning and missed deadlines. Check out some of the reaction below…
So the latest statement from Levy our grand wizard was a load of . New ground was never a possible venue for the city game. Why can the club communicate this info early to the fans?

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. First people were unhappy with the lack of communication and now they don’t like the message. This is the largest construction in England, maybe in Europe. The club is doing their best. Cut them some slack.

I don’t know why we don’t commit to Wembley all season. Gives contractors extra time to get stadium spot on and we are used to Wembley now anyway. Makes sense

This is a complete joke.

Personally I think moving into the new stadium after Christmas would take the shine of it in every way. Not ideal but I’d rather just finish the season at Wembley and move in next season. This is new chapter in club history. Let’s do it properly
