Tottenham Hotspur sustained a serious blow in their bid to keep pace with Manchester City and Liverpool on Sunday, as they lost 2-1 to Burnley at Turf Moor.
Goals from Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes gave Sean Dyche’s men all three points, with the result surely ending any slim hopes that Spurs may have had of winning the Premier League title.
Following the conclusion of the game – in which Harry Kane made his return for Tottenham and scored his side’s goal – manager Mauricio Pochettino and referee Mike Dean were involved in a heated on-field argument.
Burnley’s first goal came from a corner that should have been awarded as a goal-kick, with many speculating that the decision provoked the Argentine’s ire.
Whatever prompted the debate, many Spurs fans on Twitter took Pochettino’s side and insisted that Dean never seems to give their side the decisions they deserve. Take a look at the best reaction below!
Good morning to everyone unless your name is Mike Dean & you have a hairline that stretches all the way back to 1999. In that case, I hope you step on an upwards facing plug.

Think about how much you despised Mike Dean before today's game. Now think about how much more you despise him after the run-in with Poch. How can this guy credibly ref another Spurs game?

No. But loved Poch going at him because he did make some braindead calls. Very enjoyable

Mike Dean’s the worst ref!

Deans had an agenda against spurs ever since people said he celebrated our goals after his advantages. Gone out of his way to prove he’s not pro spurs, shouldn’t be aloud to officiate spurs games

Mike Dean is possibly the worst ref in football league, he should only ref Sunday league football. He made some awful decisions. #MikeDeanforthesack.

Pochettino is the complete professional. If Pochettino is angry with Mike Dean, you can be 100% certain Dean provoked him deliberately. It would be good for the game if @premierleague fined Dean. #finemikedean

The @FA seriously need to sort out their officials. If Mike Dean has said something which has offended Poch then the governing body need to take action
