Tottenham Hotspur eased their way into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 7-0 battering of League Two side Tranmere Rovers on Friday night.
The goals came courtesy of a Fernando Llorente hat-trick, a Serge Aurier brace, and strikes for Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane. It was the involvement of the latter that particularly raised eyebrows amongst plenty of Spurs fans.

Kane was introduced to the game by Mauricio Pochettino in the 75th minute with Spurs already 6-0 up. Considering that Tottenham have huge clashes with Chelsea and Manchester United, in the League Cup and Premier League respectively, on the horizon, the Argentine coach’s surprise decision to field his star man in such an unnecessary manner has to be considered reckless.
Had the 25-year-old forward sustained an injury, Pochettino’s decision would have been impossible to justify.
The decision to bring on the 35-cap England captain certainly sparked plenty of debate amongst the Spurs faithful, many of whom took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the matter…
