Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from The Sun linking the club to the signing of Declan Rice from London rivals West Ham, with Spurs looking to take advantage of the Irishman’s contract situation at the London Stadium.
The 19-year-old has quickly become one of the first names on the Hammers’ teamsheet under Manuel Pellegrini since graduating from the academy in the last couple of years.
However, the player and the club have come to a standstill over contract talks. Rice currently earns around £3k-a-week at the London Stadium, and has reportedly rejected fresh terms of around £15k-a-week as he feels he is worth more to the team.
Having been voted ‘Young Hammer of the Year’ for the last two seasons, the teenager is a big hit with fans and has been a key player for the club this season, so the fact that those higher up at the club aren’t making him feel valued with a proper pay rise is baffling to say the least.
If the club don’t sort things out quickly, one of the league’s best youngsters will be available for free next summer. One of the interested clubs are Spurs and while any January deal would seem unbelievable given the strained relationship between the two clubs, let’s take a look at what fans of the north London club think of any potential move…
This will be quality for the banter it’ll cause on its own ?

There is NO WAY West Ham would let this happen. All my West Ham mates have been banging on about Declan Rice this season. This rumuor is just being used to pump up his contract renegotiation!

If we took notice of all these so called reports of players that Spurs were interested in, or were going to sign up in January, there would be about 20 involved. It’s all media speculation, so until @SpursOfficial announce something, then I take it all with a pinch of salt.

Unpopular opinion: If he continues his Development the way he is right now, he will replace Eric Dier at our club
