According to Sky Sports News, Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose will not be heading on loan to Schalke 04 despite various reports linking the Englishman with a move.
Rose did not leave Tottenham ahead of the closing of the English transfer window, but he can still join a foreign club before the end of the month.
Schalke are believed to have turned down the chance to sign the left-back as they are not interested in a loan deal, and cannot afford to sign him on a permanent transfer.
Rose, who has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, is very much behind Ben Davies when it comes to the left-back spot at Tottenham, and he will surely need to move on this month if he wants regular league football.
Tottenham fans have been reacting to the latest developments surrounding the defender’s signature, and some believe that Rose – on £65,000 a week – should now be given a chance to reignite his career at the capital club.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:
55k a week too much for them and they’ve only just realised this 😂

I don’t think we should be letting him go. He is an excellent player and he still has a role to play at the club.

Pretty comprehensive knockback. “He’s too expensive but we don’t want one anyway. Definitely no.”

They had to google him and didn’t like what they found

Good. Let’s keep and try and reinvigorate him. #coys

So is he too expensive or are they not in the market for a LB?
