Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after news broke of Lucas Moura’s knee injury which will keep him out of tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea, having picked up the knock in the 7-0 win over Tranmere.
The Brazilian international has made 23 starts in all competitions under Mauricio Pochettino this season, emerging as one of the club’s most important players after a stuttering first six months in England. Lucas has scored eight goals in those games, and after playing such a key role in getting Spurs to the semi-final, his absence will hit him and the north London-based side hard.
The former Sao Paulo star follows the likes of Erik Lamela, Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier in picking up injuries in recent weeks for Spurs – they will hope that those who are fit can get them over the line against the Blues.
With Son Heung-min set to depart to international duty next week, any more injury setbacks could be devastating, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…

Sonny leaves after Sunday so need him fit. He carried on against Tranmere so can’t be that serious.

Lucas will be Sonny’s replacement after the United match, better hope his injury isn’t too bad. There’s Lamela too but he can’t play back to back matches. Signings needed?

He played on with that injury but I suspect they’re being extra careful with him as Sonny is about to go away again. Big boots to fill, early season form required from Lucas!
