Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luke Amos took to Twitter to thank everyone for their well-wishing message after he made his Premier League debut for the club as a substitute in their 2-1 win against Newcastle United at St James' Park on Saturday, and Spurs fans were quick to respond.

Following an injury to Victor Wanyama and with Eric Dier and Moussa Dembele both competing in the latter stages of the 2018 World Cup, the 21-year-old was a regular for the north London outfit during pre-season and could potentially be a long-term replacement for the latter who could still leave before the end of the month.

While he didn't get the nod for the starting XI against the Magpies, he did replace Eric Dier with two minutes left to play on Tyneside, making his full bow in the process.

Tottenham supporters, some of whom slaughtered a 6ft 2in star for his performance against Newcastle, took to social media to reply to Amos' message following his debut, and while one labelled him as a "future Spurs legend", another said "you're our next star".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
