France booked their spot in the final of the 2018 World Cup with a 1-0 win over Belgium in the semi-finals on Tuesday night.

Samuel Umtiti scored the only goal of the match, with the Barcelona defender's header proving the difference between the two teams.

Olivier Giroud once again led the line for France, but it would be fair to say that the centre-forward struggled to make his mark.

There can be no doubting that he worked hard, but Belgium's three centre-backs had a fairly comfortable evening's work up against Giroud.

Tottenham Hotspur fans do not exactly have a high opinion on Giroud when considering that the Frenchman spent five and a half seasons at Arsenal - where he remains a popular figure - before joining another of their London rivals Chelsea in the January transfer window.

And the Spurs supporters were quick to poke fun at Giroud's performance against Belgium in Russia.

Giroud will be hoping to have the last laugh when France compete in the final of the World Cup on Sunday afternoon, but for now, the 31-year-old has been on the receiving end of more criticism.
