Loads of Tottenham fans have been heaping praise on Erik Lamela, as the feisty winger dominated Argentina's friendly win over Mexico on Tuesday night.

Lamela has been one of the standout performers in North London this season, finally showing the form that tempted Andre Villas-Boas to sign him back in 2013.

The 26-year-old has never really cemented a place in the first team at Tottenham, but his form this season has been nothing short of exceptional.

After scoring four times in eight Premier League games (only four starts), he was handed a start for Argentina on Tuesday night.

He clearly had a point to prove after missing out on the World Cup squad, terrorising the Mexico defence with his directness and supplying an assist for Mauro Icardi just two minutes into the match.

Lionel Scaloni’s side won 2-0 on the night as Paulo Dybala added a second late on, but Lamela was the star of the show.

Mauricio Pochettino has worked wonders with the winger this season, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
