According to reports in The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up a cut-price £3m summer move for West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans if they choose to cash in on contract rebel Toby Alderweireld, but Spurs fans have all proposed the same idea on what they should do with the money instead.
The Telegraph says that Evans will be available for just £3m at the end of the season if the Baggies are relegated due to a clause in his contract, and that is looking to be a likely scenario considering the west Midlands outfit are 10 points from safety with just seven Premier League matches remaining this term.
Meanwhile, the north London outfit have reportedly admitted defeat in their bid to ensure Alderweireld signs a new deal, with the two parties miles apart in terms of the Belgium international’s wage demands.
Tottenham supporters have been quick to have their say on the Evans link via social media, and they were all proposing the same idea about the potential £3m deal.
While one said “pay Toby it instead”, another said “or we could just pay Toby”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

Why should Spurs pay a 3M release clause and his salary instead of just paying Toby?
