It has been a pretty good week for Tottenham. A comfortable victory in the North London Derby last Saturday was followed up with a mightily impressive draw against Juventus in the Champions League.
Now, Mauricio Pochettino’s men look to have found top gear and are still competing on a number of fronts, in the hope that this season will finally be the one that ends in silverware.
Now, according to ESPN, Spurs are considering extending the contract of one of their in-form players – Erik Lamela.
The Argentine, who is valued at £22.5million by Transfermarkt, has been superb since returning from an injury that saw him sidelined for a year.
His current contract runs out in 2019, but Spurs have the option of the extending his stay at the club by a further 12 months; something that the Tottenham hierarchy are reportedly debating at the moment.
After hearing the news that the club are considering extending Lamela’s contract, Spurs fans took to Twitter to express their delight…
Shouldnt even be considered, best squad player we have.

65k a week seems excellent value for him. He brings unique qualities to the squad. It would seem to be a worthwhile risk to extend him even with his injury history.
