Tottenham fans have identified Lyon’s breakout midfield star Tanguy Ndombele as their long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele.
Now, we don’t know if it’s a rule that you have to be a strong, wiry dribbling machine with a name ending in “bele” to be the main man in Tottenham’s midfield, but that seems to case.
With reports heating up that Mousa Dembele could leave North London, Mauricio Pochettino is no doubt shopping around for replacements, but fans have already done some shopping of their own.
Ndombele has burst onto the scene at Lyon this season, wowing spectators in France with his incredible strength on the ball, ability to glide past opponents, and dominant defending.
The 21 year-old is averaging 2.1 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game in all competitions this season, while also completing a remarkable 2.8 dribbles and 1.4 key passes per game.
The French youngster seems the ideal fit to replace Dembele, who has just gone off the boil slightly in recent matches.

Midfield- Dembele looks like he is going so I would replace him with Lemina from Southampton who has shown qualities like Dembele or Ndombele from Amiens who has been compared to Dembele. Both very good options who could be similar to Dembele in the future. pic.twitter.com/8dSnLd5pyR

Tanguy Ndombele has got to be Dembele's replacement if he goes.
Strong, technically gifted and can play a nice pass in the final third!

Dele sitting deep doesn’t really do it for me. I’d reckon it’s dembele dier against united and dier wanyama next season. Hopefully we get a kovacic or ndombele as backup next year for the outgoing Dembele

Spot on. They move in an eerily similar way, too.
