Tottenham Hotspur face runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening, and Spurs fans want Serge Aurier to start at right-back.
The north London outfit will be looking to finish their week on a high after successive 5-1 and 2-0 wins at home to Stoke City and Brighton and Hove Albion respectively propelled them back into the top four ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, but it certainly won’t be an easy task in Manchester.
Pep Guardiola’s side have won 16 and drawn one of their 17 top flight matches so far this season, and they are well on course to lift the trophy at the end of the campaign.
Aurier has been vying with Kieran Trippier for the right full-back/wing-back spot this term and he made his first start in three league matches against the Seagulls in midweek, even getting on the score-sheet.
Tottenham supporters have been having their say on the Ivory Coast international via social media, and while one said he was “praying Aurier starts today”, another said ‘play him or we riot’.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

Unless Trippier is bang on his game, he will get SAVAGED by City. At least Rose and Aurier offer some fire as well as pace.
