It has been a frustrating season for Victor Wanyama, with the midfielder struggling to earn a starting role in the Tottenham Hotspur XI since returning from injury in early 2018.
Wanyama was only given minutes here and there throughout January and February as Eric Dier was preferred alongside in-form Mousa Dembele in the middle of the park.
The 26-year-old has now played the full 90 minutes in two of Tottenham’s last three Premier League matches, however, including in Sunday’s 4-1 win at Bournemouth.
Wanyama was excellent alongside Dembele at the heart of the midfield, and the Spurs supporters, who were not pleased with one of their players at the weekend, are hopeful that the Kenyan will now keep his position in the team.
Dier will certainly have something to say about that, but one Tottenham fan pointed out that he would much rather see Wanyama in the team than the England international.

Well played Victor, was a joy to watch you back in the heart of our midfield controlling play, especially in that second-half, hopefully you keep your place in the side. 👏🏻
