Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado is expected to seal a return to La Liga this week, according to Metro.
The Spaniard has endured a torrid time since arriving in north London for £26million in 2013, scoring just 16 goals in 76 appearances for the club.
And teammate Erik Lamela, who has also struggled to adapt to life in England since signing for the club the same summer as Soldado, has all but confirmed the striker’s departure by wishing him a farewell message on Twitter.
The winger quickly deleted the post but it didn’t take long for fans to pick up on it, with speculation over Soldado’s destination now increasing heavily.
Metro claim a return to La Liga is most likely, with Valencia and Villarreal both thought to be interested in his signature.
Meanwhile, Spurs are hoping to officialy announce the £12m arrival of Lyon striker Clinton N’Jie before their Premier League meeting with Stoke this weekend.
