Tottenham flop to be used to nab La Liga hot-shot

Tottenham and Sevilla are pondering a Roberto Soldado plus cash offer for Carlos Bacca, according to reports from Super Deporte.

Spurs are understood to be interested in the Colombian forward who has already hit five goal in seven La Liga outings this season, building on his 14 efforts last term.

The Andalusians value their man at around £25m, but the Londoners are hopeful that they can drive the price down by offering Soldado in exchange.

Sevilla coach Unai Emery is known to be a fan of the former La Roja star after coaching through, arguably, his best years while at Valencia.

Tottenham are likely to have to offer a significant cash payment alongside their former record buy, with £26m he cost them just over a year ago some way off of his current value after a difficult spell at White Hart Lane.

Bacca was also linked with Arsenal over the summer, and is considered to be one of Spanish football’s most feared marksmen.

He travelled to the World Cup with his home nation earlier this year, but made just one appearance.
