Tottenham Hotspur fans are begging Mauricio Pochettino to start Danny Rose against Borussia Dortmund

Danny Rose was in fine form for Tottenham Hotspur against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon and the standard of his showing has prompted fans to beg for his inclusion against Borussia Dortmund.

The 28-year-old defender returned to the starting XI after dropping to the substitutes bench against Newcastle United previously, and he showed his class by neutralising the threat of Rachid Ghezzal.

There is no doubt that the England international will face bigger challenges this season but his all-action performance certainly hinted that he is close to returning to his brilliant best.

With the last-16 clash against Dortmund awaiting on Wednesday evening, the Spurs fans are naturally turning their attention towards the European fixture and they have urged Pochettino to stick with Rose.

Jadon Sancho’s electric form on the right side of midfield this season hints that the experienced full-back will be in for a tricky evening on Wednesday if he gets the nod over Ben Davies, but it seems clear that the supporters believe he is most aptly equipped to deal with the teenager’s electric presence.

Pochettino’s history of tinkering with his team suggests that there is no guarantee Rose will get the nod, but the supporters are praying he keeps his place after a fine performance against the Foxes.

Here’s what some Spurs fans have had to say about Danny Rose ahead of Dortmund’s visit:
