Fernando Llorente was recruited by Tottenham Hotspur from Swansea City last year as a back-up to Harry Kane.

The Spaniard was never going to rival his teammate for the number one spot, but he did little to impress as a second choice.

In fact, the forward, who has earned 24 caps for his national team, scored just five goals and created one assist in 31 appearances in all competitions last season.

In addition, manager Mauricio Pochettino started Llorente just once in the Premier League, which suggests that the Spaniard does not have much of a future at the club.

Plenty of fans have been hoping that the forward would move on to pastures new, but it seems that the player has other ideas.

During an interview with Mundo Deportivo, which was published on Tuesday, Llorente admitted that he was content with life at Tottenham and intends to stay.

"I do not have offers from any club in Spain nor from anywhere else and I will continue at Tottenham, where I have one more year on my contract. I am very happy at Tottenham."

Spurs fans have been reacting to the striker's comments on Twitter.
