There is nothing more frustrating for a football fan in the transfer window when a move develops into a drawn-out saga.

At the moment, Tottenham Hotspur seem to be amidst two, and both are related to players who could be on their way out of the North London outfit.

Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele are yet to sign new contracts at Spurs, and as the days go by, it becomes ever more likely that the pair will leave.

However, it does not appear that either are close to finalising any moves, and now the London Evening Standard has claimed that suitors are struggling to meet the price tag for Dembele.

The publication states that Tottenham want around £30m for the 75-cap Belgium international, who was a crucial figure in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield last season.

However, interested parties, including some from Italy, are unwilling to meet that figure for the 30-year-old, who joined Spurs from Fulham in 2012.

It seems that plenty of Tottenham fans are more open to the idea of selling Dembele, and many agree that the price is too high.
