Tottenham Hotspur were flying high until they bumped into North London rivals Arsenal.

Mauricio Pochettino's team had lost just once in nine Premier League games and took four points from a possible six in their Champions League encounters with Real Madrid.

Many had tipped Spurs to get one over on Arsenal given that they finished above their rivals last season for the first time in 22 years.

However, Arsene Wenger's side challenged the claim that there had been a power shift by securing a 2-0 win at the Emirates on Saturday.

Spurs failed to recreate their recent form as Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez found the back of the net for the Gunners.

Tottenham will now switch focus to the Champions League when they prepare to take on Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

The North London outfit have already qualified for the last 16, which could persuade Pochettino to field a much-changed first XI.

Even so, it will be important for Spurs to get back to winning ways in order to boost morale.

Some agreed with the club's above sentiments, while others made it clear that they are still dealing with Saturday's disappointment.
