Tottenham Hotspur fans did not enjoy Erik Lamela’s performance vs City

Tottenham Hotspur’s 14-game unbeaten streak in the English Premier League came to a shuddering halt on Saturday after Manchester City emerged victorious at Wembley Stadium.

Losing 3-1, Spurs’ lead over fifth-placed Chelsea has now been cut to seven points after the Blues produced a comeback win earlier in the day against Southampton.

It was a frustrating result and performance for home supporters, with many criticising the team selection of Mauricio Pochettino for the encounter.

The decision to start Erik Lamela raised plenty of eyebrows and fans ended up hating his performance, with plenty having preferred to see Lucas Moura or Son Heung-min get the nod ahead of him.

The Argentinian has scored just once in his last twelve appearances and some are now calling on him to be dropped for the remaining games this season.

Was selecting him against a quality side like City a mistake?
