Tottenham Hotspur are on the road to becoming a Premier League heavyweight, but they still have plenty of steps to take.
Having the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen within the team puts them head and shoulders above some of their competitors.
They have always had a handful of standout players, though, particularly prior to Mauricio Pochettino’s era when Gareth Bale and Luka Modric were among the first XI.
Both players moved to Real Madrid, with Bale hopping over to Spain in 2013, one year after his teammate.
Bale certainly developed into world-class standard while at Tottenham and went from strength to strength in his first few seasons at the Bernabeu.
Nowadays, the attacker struggles with injuries, but he can still make an impact on the team, much like Modric.
It is highly unlikely that the pair will return to Tottenham in the near future, but football.london journalist Alasdair Gold posed the question ahead of Madrid’s Champions League final on Saturday evening.
Some fans jumped at the idea of welcoming back the duo, while others have firmly moved on.
Let’s be realistic we are not bringing in bale if we can not pay toby, Mussa, and the rest market value wages. This type of plug is only gonna hurt the fans that are not used to the pain of the offseason.

Yes I’d take them back, and I’d love to see them smash the pool to pieces, I respect both, and I can’t hold grudges on any player lost to Madrid. It was bales dream, Luka wanted to win things. I still love them both, always will. Legends in my eyes

Never look back , only forward . They were from a different Spurs era and good luck to them tomorrow but we shouldn’t go back in my opinion

Yes have them both back I’ll even pay the fare ????????

Anyone who says “no” is certified insane. Imagine that team?!!!!

Bale is a different player to anything we already have. Modric is a classy player but I think we have a young player, in Winks, that can do as good a job.

I’ll always have fond memories of both of these players, and they were two of our most talented players in the Premier League era. I would take the both back now, but only on the right terms. We have moved on since they left and are in a different position now
