Tottenham Hotspur fans have lost patience with Erik Lamela after Saturday defeat

Tottenham Hotspur failed to take a massive step towards qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season after a 1-0 defeat away to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

A Spurs win would have put them on the brink of a confirmed top four finish, but they will now anxiously be watching tomorrow’s Chelsea match. A victory for the Blues would see them move to within two points of Mauricio Pochettino’s side with two games remaining.

It was a deeply frustrating afternoon for supporters, who watched their side dominate possession and territory before conceding in the 92nd minute to former player Jake Livermore.

Much of the criticism was aimed at Erik Lamela who, playing behind striker Harry Kane, failed to create the chances necessary to punish the relegation candidates.

Many fans have now lost patience with the Argentinian, who is worth £22.5m according to Transfermarkt.

With zero goals and just two assists in 23 Premier League appearances this season, his final product is being called into question and some even believe he should be sold this summer.
