Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a further blow with a club update revealing defender Jan Vertonghen has been ruled out until December after he sustained an injury in his side’s Premier League win over Huddersfield Town at the end of last month.
The 31-year-old was part of a whole host of Spurs stars that missed their previous two matches against Barcelona and Cardiff City with Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele and Serge Aurier also on the injury list. Vertonghen’s injury is however worse than expected and he will thus need more time to fully recover.
The club’s fans haven’t taken the news very well with Vertonghen now set to miss a few important matches, including two must-win Champions League encounters as well as Premier League clashes with Manchester City, Chelsea and possibly Arsenal.
