Tottenham Hotspur fans not impressed with Hugo Lloris’s comeback performance

Tottenham Hotspur fans have expressed their frustration in captain Hugo Lloris’s showing against Barcelona in the Champions League at Wembley on Wednesday evening.

The Frenchman made his first appearance after being charged with drunk-driving in London at the end of August. Lloris pleaded guilty to the charge and was given a £50,000 fine as well as a driving ban, before he was then also ruled out of out action with an injury.

But the 31-year-old’s return to the Spurs side was spoiled by a Lionel Messi masterclass as Barcelona cruised to a 4-2 victory, and some of the club’s fans weren’t impressed with his performance, saying Paulo Gazzaniga might have been a better option to start in goal.

Gazziniga replaced Michel Vorm following an injury to the Dutchman and proved his worth in the three wins against Brighton, Watford and Huddersfield.
