Ian Wright never hides his views about former club Arsenal, particularly when they are on a downward spiral.

Plenty of supporters would be inclined to agree with some of his views, but his latest comment about Tottenham Hotspur may not have gone down too well.

In contrast, fans of Mauricio Pochettino's team welcomed the remarks that the former striker made on Sky Sports' The Debate.

During the 10pm showing of the programme on Thursday, Wright claimed that if he was a young player and had the pick of Arsenal, Tottenham or Chelsea, he would choose the Gunners' biggest rivals.

In response to the question posed by host Geoff Shreeves, the pundit said:

"I'd choose Spurs because of the progression and what they are doing. I haven't got a problem saying they are the number one right now."

Pochettino has become known for giving young talent a chance, with Dele Alli being the prime example.

The midfielder transformed from League One regular to Premier League starter and England international.

Not many ex-Arsenal players would choose to compliment their enemies, therefore Wright's remarks have sparked a reaction from Spurs fans.
