Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed that their star, Heung-Min Son, has been named the AFC Asian International Player of the Year for a record third time in his career. Of course, this came as a nice update for many Spurs fans who were simply delighted for their 27-year-old forward, saying the award was well deserved.

Son truly did have another great season in 2018/19 and is continuing the trend in the ongoing 2019/20 campaign. Last year, he bagged 20 goals and ten assists in 48 games across all competitions while now, he's already on nine goals and eight assists in just 18 games played.

For that reason, seeing the fans shower him with love and praise didn't really come as a big surprise as many of them stated he truly deserves this award:

Some fans were not even referencing the award but were simply pointing out that Son is an incredible player in his own right, which is definitely supported by his figures in the last two seasons.

With 76 goals and 44 goals in a total of 206 games played for the London team, it's also easy to see why fans would already call him a legend of the club.

But of course, there were also some of the fans who were jokingly stating the obvious: Son doesn't really have that much competition among his fellow Asian countrymen, which is even further emphasised by the fact that he's the record holder with three awards to his name already.

One fan even suggested that they just name him the best Asian player of all time.
