Kevin Gameiro has been a name that has featured in the transfer gossip pages over the last few weeks.
The Atletico Madrid striker has been linked to Swansea City and Southampton, but now it appears that Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest.
A recent report in The Sun claimed that the North London outfit are planning to swoop for the Frenchman.
It is believed that they have made it known to Gameiro’s camp that they are open to a loan move if Atletico decide not to sell in this window.
The forward earned a switch to the Vicente Calderon in 2016 after performing well for Sevilla, where he won three Europa League crowns consecutively.
At Atletico, though, this season, the attacker has started just seven La Liga games and has come off the bench in a further six.
In that time, Gameiro has scored four goals and created one assist, and now according to The Sun, Tottenham think that he is the man to challenge Harry Kane.
This rumoured interest calls into question the future of Fernando Llorente, who has struggled for game time at Spurs since his move from Swansea City in the summer.
In fact, the Spaniard has started just six games in all competitions, and only one of those has been in the Premier League.
Amid the rumours surrounding Gameiro, Tottenham fans have had their say on Twitter.
