Tottenham Hotspur have been widely linked in the media with a move for Bordeaux starlet Malcom.

The Brazilian has made headlines in recent weeks as he has also been touted as a target for Spurs' arch rivals Arsenal.

Now, though, there are reports that Tottenham could switch focus to another Brazilian lighting up the stage.

Goal.com reports that Mauricio Pochettino is keeping an eye on Ajax winger David Neres.

The 20-year-old is believed to be a back-up option if the club fail to secure the signature of Malcom.

Neres has impressed this season by scoring eight goals in 17 Eredivisie appearances, and he has also managed to create nine assists in that time.

Despite being just 20, the attack-minded player has started 16 games in all competitions for Ajax.

Whoever Tottenham end up signing - if they nab either - then they are sure to get a talented addition.

Some fans expressed on Twitter that they would prefer the club to bring in Neres over Malcom.
