According to reports in The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has identified Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish as one of his prime summer targets, and fans are split on whether he would be a good addition, or not.

The Telegraph says that the Argentine boss wants to bring the 22-year-old to north London following the Midlands outfit's Championship play-off final defeat against Fulham at Wembley last month, that has left them in financial trouble and potentially having to cash in on their stars this summer.

The report says that Villa don't want to sell the England U21 international on the cheap however and rate him at around £40m, although Spurs chairman Daniel Levy believes he can get him for a fee nearer £15m.

While Grealish certainly impressed during the 2017/18 campaign with three goals and five assists in 27 league appearances – prior to the play-offs – perhaps Pochettino should forget about him and seal a deal for Norwich City's James Maddison, valued at £20m according to The Sun, instead.

The highly-rated 21-year-old enjoyed a brilliant Championship campaign himself from an attacking midfield position, scoring 14 goals and providing a further eight assists, as per WhoScored.com.

That doesn't tell the whole story though, with the Canaries youngster successfully completing 104 dribbles, as well as making an impressive 121 key passes in 44 league outings.

While it is clear to see that Pochettino wants a shake-up of his Tottenham midfield this summer and believes that he could work wonders with Grealish like he did with Dele Alli previously, Maddison looks to have the quality to be an even better addition for the north London outfit ahead of their move into their new stadium.
