Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a potentially huge injury boost ahead of their Carabao Cup meeting with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday evening.

What's the latest?

Speaking in the pre-match press conference (via football.london), Cristian Stellini confirmed that Richarlison returned to first-team training on Monday, and was also taking part in full contact training on Tuesday, with the centre-forward looking to have recovered from a calf injury that has seen him miss Spurs' last six fixtures.

The Tottenham head coach then revealed that the 25-year-old would be available for selection for the trip to Nottingham Forest tomorrow evening, although suggested that the Brazil international may not be selected from the off due to how recently the attacker has recovered from his knock.

Regarding the current condition of Richarlison, the Italian said: "Richarlison is back in training from yesterday. We are very happy to see him again with us. He's an available player but thinking that he has only had two days training with the team."

Huge boost

Considering the fact that Heung Min-son has been ruled out of action until at least the World Cup break after fracturing four bones in his eye socket in the 2-1 victory over Olympique de Marseille earlier this month, Richarlison's return to fitness could not have come at a better time for Antonio Conte.

Indeed, with Dejan Kulusevski also working his way back to full fitness, in addition to Lucas Moura still struggling with a knock, the loss of Son was a huge blow for Tottenham.

Although the South Korean sensation has not always been at his free-flowing best over his 19 appearances this season, the 30-year-old has still scored five goals and registered two assists in all competitions - averaging a direct goal involvement every 213 minutes of football played in 2022/23.

As such, the return of Richarlison's attacking threat in Conte's front three will undoubtedly come as a huge boost to the 53-year-old manager - who will certainly be hoping to head into the break for the Qatar World Cup in the best form possible.

Indeed, over his 12 fixtures since his £60m move to north London this summer, the Brazilian has scored two goals and provided his teammates with three assists - averaging a direct goal involvement every 139 minutes of football played for Spurs.

So, it is clear to see the return of the 25-year-old is fantastic news for all involved with Tottenham, as Richarlison's returns this season suggest that he could replace Son's output in Conte's attacking trio - starting in the meeting with Forest tomorrow.
