Tottenham Hotspur told to expect ‘brutal experience’ in FA Cup match

Tottenham Hotspur are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games, but they head into this weekend’s FA Cup match on the back of an unconvincing performance.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men struggled to beat a Southampton side that have not won a Premier League match since November.

The North London outfit went a goal down in the first half due to a Davinson Sanchez own goal.

Harry Kane managed to respond three minutes later, but the team were unable to build on their comeback to seal all three points.

On Saturday, Tottenham will take on League Two opposition Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The team will not have the comfort of Wembley as they will be travelling to Rodney Parade in South Wales.

Former Arsenal forward Charlie Nicholas believes that Tottenham are in for a difficult evening due to Newport’s pitch.

While discussing his predictions on Sky Sports, the Scotsman said:

“It was a bit of a stumble at Southampton last weekend for Spurs and if they thought that pitch was in bad condition then they are in for a brutal experience here. I expect Fernando Llorente to start with Harry Kane rested ahead of the massive game with Manchester United on Wednesday, but they should have more than enough here.”
