Tottenham Hotspur are amongst a host of Premier League sides eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho, according to The Sun.

What's the word?

Mauricio Pochettino's side have remained amongst the running for a top-four finish this season but their performances at the start of the campaign have caused some concern, particularly after consecutive Champions League defeats.

Injury problems have swept their way through the North London side and the Lilywhites seem to lack the significant depth to counter these issues, raising scrutiny on the fact Spurs did not sign a single player during the summer window.

However, according to The SunSpurs are in the running for Borussia Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho but will have to pay in excess of £100m to bring the 18-year-old back to the Premier League.

Could it happen?

With Pochettino's fine record of developing young players, Sancho and Spurs could seem like a match made in heaven but it would be extremely difficult for the North London side to negotiate a deal - with his nine-figure price-tag just the first hurdle to overcome.

Should Dortmund suggest they are open to a sale, Spurs can expect fierce competition in the hunt for a player who could earn his first England cap with Gareth Southgate's side this week and the Lilywhites would have to shatter their transfer record to secure his services.

Spurs were linked with the teenager last summer when he left Manchester City but neglected to pursue a deal and that means their best chance of signing Sancho has passed, so Pochettino should instead be eyeing alternative targets.
