Tottenham have received glowing reports on Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek and are keen on a move for the forward, according to TEAMtalk.

What's the word?

As the debate concerning Harry Kane and whether he is in need of a rest rumbles on, Mauricio Pochettino may have an ace up his sleeve behind the scenes as Tottenham are amongst the running to sign a forward who has exploded onto the scene this season.

TEAMtalk names Tottenham as one of three Premier League sides that have received glowing reports on Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek, alongside Manchester City and Liverpool, after the Polish forward's spectacular start to life in Serie A.

Signed for just £4m this summer, Genoa already value the 6ft tall 23-year-old at around £30m after his stunning start to the season has seen him become the first player in European football to reach double figures during the 2018-19 campaign.

Should Spurs move?

With Kane lacking support as his only back-up is a misfiring Fernando Llorente, Pochettino should have a new forward at the top of his wishlist in January, and the additio of Piatek would give him the frontline he has wanted for years.

Piatek has already scored eight league goals this season from just six appearances, which includes a brace against Frosinone on Sunday, and also hit four in his Coppa Italia debut against Lecce at the start of the campaign.

His fantastic form sees him sit top of the Serie A scoring charts, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, with Genoa punching above their weight and sitting sixth in the standings, ahead of Roma, Lazio and Milan, with a game in hand on the sides above them.
