Tottenham keen on Roma ace

Miralem-Pjanic-RomaTottenham are monitoring Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports from the Daily Star.

Spurs were linked with a move for the Bosnian international over the summer, but were unable to tie up a double deal involving Erik Lamela.

The Argentine made the switch to White Hart Lane, and now the Londoners are ready to swoop for his former team-mate.

The 23-year-old has been in fine form for Roma this term, helping them to the top of the Serie A table.

But, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season he could be allowed to leave the Italian capital this winter.

Tottenham are pondering a £20m move for the playmaker, who has been on their radar for some time.

Andre Villas-Boas is keen to further bolster his squad in January, despite spending over £100m during the last window.

Spurs have the financial muscle to invest once again, and Pjanic is near the top of wish list.

The ex-Lyon man is thought of as one of Italian football’s top creative players and has developed a reputation as a set-piece expert.

Should Tottenham move for Miralem Pjanic?
