Tottenham line up shock move for Serie A hot-shot

Giuseppe Rossi (Tottenham)Tottenham are plotting an audacious £30m January move for in-form Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi, according to reports from the Sunday People.

The ex-Manchester United youngster has recently recovered from a series of serious injuries to take centre stage for the Italian side – for whom he has already found the back of the net 11 times this term.

Rossi signed for the Florence club earlier this year from Villarreal, where he was sidelined with major anterior cruciate ligament problems – which at one stage appeared to be career threatening.

However his recovery has been a successful one, which has caught the eye of Spurs technical director Franco Baldini.

Rossi is seen as the ideal solution to Tottenham’s problems in front of goal – the London club have only netted on nine occasions in the Premier League this term.

The 26-year-old is seen as indispensible by La Viola, but the Lilywhites are said to be ready to offer £30m for his services.

The American-born Italian international spent some of his earlier career with United, but failed to make an impact at Old Trafford.

Since leaving the Red Devils he has flourished, and is now thought of as one of European football’s top finishers.

Despite having spent over £100m during the summer, Tottenham are said to be willing to invest in their squad once again next month.
