Tottenham line up star trio in bid to keep Bale

Tottenham's winger Gareth Bale

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is looking to make three big name signings in a bid to persuade Gareth Bale to stay at the club.

The Express are reporting that Spurs want to sign Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Willian, in an attempt to show the Welshman that they are capable of qualifying for the Champions League.

Levy, known as being a tough negotiator, is keen on signing Argentine Lamela, who will cost around £30million. Then Spurs will bid for Liverpool target Christian Eriksen, before fighting the Reds directly for Willian’s signature. The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane, before he joined Anzhi Makhachkala from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Bale, who is expected to miss the first day of the new season, has a price tag of £105million, with Levy unwilling to budge on his valuation of the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards winner. Real Madrid have bid £86m for Bale, which Levy instantly rejected. However, there are fresh doubts that Madrid will struggle to come up with the total amount needed.

Spurs have already signed Paulinho, Roberto Soldado and Nacer Chadli and Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue this summer.

AVB kicks off Tottenham’s campaign for a top 4 finish against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Will Bale sign for Real Madrid? Can Spurs nab any of the three targets?
