Tottenham target Jese has committed his future to Real Madrid by signing a new contract at the Bernabeu.
Andre Villas-Boas was tracking the 20-year-old winger, a talent thought to be one of the best to come out of Madrid‘s academy in recent times.
A statement from the Galacticos though, read: “Real Madrid announce that Jese has extended his contract, by which he will remain with the club for the next four seasons.” (TalkSport)
The announcement comes off the back of the news that Christian Benteke has renewed his contract at Aston Villa, meaning Spurs have now failed in luring two transfer targets.
Missing out on Jese is potentially a massive blow, with Gareth Bale’s future still in limbo.
Jese has been likened to Cristiano Ronaldo and scored 22 goals in 38 games for Madrid’s reserve side last season, as well as providing 12 assists.
He has represented Spain at U17, U19 and U20 level, and starred in the U20 World Cup this summer, scoring only one less than Golden Boot winner Ebenezer Assifuah.
Despite his impressive record, he has made only two appearances for Real Madrid’s first team, having played in a Copa del Rey fixture and against Real Sociedad in La Liga.
