Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves produced another impressive midfield display capped off with a stunning winning goal in his side's 2-1 FA Cup victory against Liverpool at Molineux on Monday night.

A lot of eyebrows were raised when the Midlands outfit pulled off an unthinkable coup when they brought the Portugal international to the club in the summer of 2017, and while there may have been some doubts as to how quickly he would adapt to English football, he has taken to it like a duck to water and is arguably the club's best and most important player now.

After scoring six goals in 42 Championship appearances to help take his team back into the Premier League, he has now hit three goals and produced one assist in 20 outings in all competitions so far this term.

It is the way the 21-year-old uses the ball and dictates the play that is so impressive though, and he once again did that as the top-flight leaders arrived at Molineux looking to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Monday.

No one on Wolves' team touched the ball more than he did (67) throughout the 90 minutes, while he had a passing accuracy of just under 92% with the 60 passes he attempted, as per WhoScored.

As well as producing one key pass, the Portuguese was also successful with nine of the 10 long balls he attempted, to prove that he is more than suited to playing with a team full of pace and a target-man striker, while he slammed yet another brilliant shot from outside the penalty area past Simon Mignolet and into the net.

Neves doesn't shy away defensively either as shown by the two tackles he won against Jurgen Klopp's men, and it is surely now a no-brainer for Tottenham Hotspur to make an ambitious move to bring him to north London – especially with Mousa Dembele on the verge of sealing his exit to China.

The 21-year-old would more than make up for the departure of the experienced Belgian because of the attributes and the qualities that he has in his locker, and the potential he has for the future is huge.
