Following a number of recent incidents during games, Tottenham have gained an unfortunate and unwanted reputation for diving, with the media and rival fans taking shots at Spurs players for their supposed play acting.

The most discussed and controversial incidents occurred at Anfield last month, during Tottenham's 2-2 draw with Liverpool. Reds fans were unhappy at two penalty decisions awarded by Jon Moss and his assistants.

The first involved Harry Kane, who took a tumble when Loris Karius came rushing out of his goal, while the second stemmed from Erik Lamela, who went down following contact from Virgil Van Dijk.

Further fuel was added to the fire when Dele Alli was judged to have won a penalty unfairly for his side during an F.A. Cup match at Rochdale last week.

Following these incidents, a number of rival fans, led mostly by Liverpool supporters, have branded Spurs as 'cheats' and 'divers'.
